| Important Considerations |
Plate Size:
First - the plate size is the most important part of a
water ionizer. Some of our competition claims that their
machine is just like ours but for 1/2 the price. That's
because their plates are much smaller. More surface
space equals higher cost for titanium and platinum
(at about $1,200 per once).
Enagic SD 501 = 245 sq inches
Jupiter Athena IW101 = 87.5 sq inches
Life 7500 = 105 sq inches (mesh)
This is a BIG reason why many of our competitors do not
mention the size of their plates.
Mesh vs Solid Plates:
There are some companies that claim that their mesh
surface are better that the Kangen solid plates. It is
true that a 100 sq inch mesh surface provides more
surface area than a 100 sq inch flat surface. The
questions is how much more surface would you really
get? Realistically, no more than 20% - 30% more
surface space.
One brand especially, the "Life Ionizers" claims that their
top model the "Life 7500" with 105 sq inch of mesh
somehow equals the 245 sq inch of the Enagic SD 501.
Not even close. At most, it would equal about
130 sq inch of a flat plate...that's a little more than 1/2 the plate size of the Enagic SD 501. In reality, the Life
7500 is more in line with the plate size of our Leveluk JR II, our $2,380 machine.
The BIGGER PROBLEM with the mesh design is...it has much greater potential for build-up than the flat plate
design. This is especially an issue for people living in areas with hard water (which is about 2/3 of the US).
While Mesh is valid for many applications, it is HORRIBLE for water ionizers. The fact is, with so many pores
on these tiny plates, minerals and the like easily get caught inside the mesh and form a hardened plaque, much
like your teeth. When people have unusually ridged teeth, they are much more susceptible to cavities.
Even with "self-cleaning technology", the plates would need a wire brush to scrub the plaque out of its pores
(which is not even possible with most competitors' machines since the water cells are fused together - Enagic's
water cell can be dissembled, see above). So if your plates get all this build-up in the mesh, then your surface
area is drastically reduced, and the machine performs very poorly (even after just a short time). You might
end up sending your machine back every 12 - 24 months for a rebuild (depending on use), which might not
covered by the warranty (our competitor's warranty usually only covers up to 2.5 gallons per day). It could cost
you around $700 each time to have your machine rebuild (new water cell) just to continue peak performance!
In conclusion, YES mesh is good for many many applications in our world, but IT IS TERRIBLE for water
ionizers! While it may increase the surface are by 25%, it also drastically reduces the lifespan of the machine.
With Enagic's solid plating, there are no pores for the plaque to buildup. The self-cleaning system in Enagic
machines successfully repels any buildup because the minerals only have a smooth flat surface to hold on to.
During the reversal of the plate polarization, what buildup that is there is easily repelled from the plate. Enagic
Ionizers will always last far longer than any tiny-plated meshed ionizer. If build up does occur, Enagic offers a $40
cleaning service.
Sprayed vs Dipped:
Anyone can tell you that when you when a plate is dipped in coating, it will be thicker than when it is sprayed. All
plates for the Enagic models are dipped. Most of our competitors are sprayed, a huge saving when you consider
how much Platinum costs (about $1,200/once). Some brands use white Gold (a mixture of silver and gold)
instead to save even more money.

The power supply is another extremely important part of a water ionizer. With it's 230 watt power supply, the
Kangen water ionizer by Enagic is the most powerful transformer powered machine on the market. The reason
the power supply is important is due to over heating. Most ionizers come with an 80 watt power supply which is
prone to over heat with elevated use. Also, some claim that their new SMPS is superior to our transformer power
supply. The SMPS is great for Plasma TVs but it's no that great for Ionizers due to its inconsistent performance.
Our 230 watt power supply offers to most consistent output in the industry.
Water Range:
There sure seems to be a lot of advertising that claims that their machine compares to the Enagic SD 501 for 1/2
the price. It is ridiculous to try to compare a machine that does not even produce the 11.5 or the 2.5 water.
These non drinking levels are the most overlooked and under valued asset. Only a 11.5 water can clean your
vegetables from pesticides since it emulsifies oil. The 2.5 water kills Salmonella and other germs and viruses,
even Gangrene. Please don't compare a machine to the Kangen SD 501 if it does not offer these levels!
Wear and Tear:
After having the machine for a while, I realized another very overlooked aspect that I did not consider when first
bought the machine and that is how much water you will use. You might think that between you and your spouse
you will produce 2 - 3 gallons per day and therefore think that a smaller, lesser unit will suffice...not so.
Reality...in our case, besides the 2 - 3 gallons of water we drink, we also give about 20 gallons per day of water
away to friends and family...and you will too. Just think about it...if the water proves itself to be what you hope for,
will you share it...I think you will be so excited about the results that you will not be able to stop talking about
what the water is doing for you...I have no doubt about it!!!
In addition, we also use the 11.5 and the 2.5 water for cleaning our vegetable, disinfecting counter tops and so
much more. We now use less chlorine and other chemicals.
Bottom line - you will never regret getting a higher quality machine...you will regret making a decision based on
just money!
Final Thoughts:
When my wife told me that she wanted to buy an ionizer for several thousand dollars, I decided to do some
research. I looked at many machines and all their claims hoping to save some money from companies
advertising to save thousands of dollars over the Enagic SD 501, which is the machine my wife wanted to buy.
While I would have loved to have save money on a cheaper unit, after doing my research, I decided to invest in
the Enagic SD 501...and we were not looking at Kangen Water as a business opportunity. I wanted the BEST
machine that would last to have access to the water. I have no regrets...as a matter of fact, every day my wise
decision is being confirmed.
Finally, something else to consider. Most people who have bought a Kangen Water machine with no intention of
becoming as "salesman" (or woman) have been so delighted with their amazing results that they have shared
their discovery of Kangen Water with others. It becomes like a virus (the good kind) that will spread like wild fire
paying for your Kangen water machine over and over again...you may not be able to stop it. For many people
in Enagic, it has replaced the entire income from a full time job. What we love is that it all begins with people's
health. I can't think of anything better. Bottom line: Since you will tell people about the Kangen Water machine,
you might as well get paid for it! Enagic's compensation plan is the most powerful pay plan on the market.
Most of our competitors offer just straight commission.
